Two excerpts and an event

Posted in Excerpts by Roger D. Hodge on September 24, 2010

My old colleagues at Harper’s Magazine were good enough to run an excerpt in their October issue. Alas, the piece is not available online. The essay was adapted from Chapter 9, “Speak, Money.”

Also this week the New York Observer published a short excerpt on its op-ed page entitled “Obama’s Betrayal of the Working Class.” It was drawn from Chapter 3, “A Parable of Peaches,” in which I explicate a passage in The Audacity of Hope.

On October 5, the Agenda Project will host a debate featuring myself and Jonathan Alter, author of The Promise: President Obama Year One, at WNYC’s Greene Space. I’m told C-Span will tape the event for a later broadcast and that it will be live streamed on the web. More details to come.
